Magic Mushroom Dispensary

Psychedelic magic mushroom dispensaries are at the forefront of wellness trends, but they still contain psilocybin, which is illegal in most states and cities. But that’s slowly changing. With laws passed in Colorado and Oregon allowing regulated mushroom use, and more people seeking to “micro-dose” the hallucinogenic drug, a growing number of shops are openly selling mushrooms in the US and Canada.

At Shroomyz in Ottawa, Ontario, a man who would only give his first name tells CTV National News that the shop is operating “a medical protest.” He says his company’s mission is to provide access to psilocybin for those who need it. That includes mental health conditions like depression or PTSD and end-of-life distress.

How to Safely Consume Magic Mushrooms: Dosage and Precautions

Customers walk into a minimalist space decorated with magic mushroom artwork and browse books on the subject. To purchase mushrooms, they show their ID and fill out a form describing their intended experience. Afterward, they can take home four grams of blue-streaked Penis Envy mushrooms for $30.

At FunGuyz in Tampa, Florida, a man named Hermida sells mushrooms in capsules and gummies and mycology kits that let customers grow their own. But the store isn’t licensed and it doesn’t follow zoning requirements. Hermida says the store is pushing legal boundaries in a similar way that cannabis stores did before marijuana was legalized. He admits he’s not sure how long his shop will last, but it’s worth the risk. He says he wants to keep the shop running even if he doesn’t make any money.
