It’s the capital of the Western Australian state and one of the largest cities in Australia, which is situated in the southern part of the country. The city of Perth was established by James Scott in 1872, and it is one of the fastest growing cities in the entire nation. It has a population of almost one and a half million and has been referred to as the ‘Garden of the South’ due to its tropical climate and lush green vegetation.

This new port city was originally developed in order to serve as a major railway link from the east to the West. When the railway line was completed, it was the second busiest railroad link in Australia. In order to provide a route to provide rail services into the region, a tunnel was constructed under the Swan River. After the completion of the tunnel, it became the main road through the area. From the 1930s on, the growth of the city has been phenomenal.
