Northcare are those who own and operate a small group of homes that provide residential long term care and support for elderly persons. Care is provided both day and night by licensed staff in a home environment. The care is individualized and tailored to each person’s individual needs and wishes. Care Home Operator are required to follow a set of state rules and regulations as well as meet licensing requirements for the home. These include but are not limited to health and safety inspections, physical plant and life-safety inspections, public health inspections, radon tests, water test, building code, operational plan and incorporation documents.
The Role of a Care Home Operator: Ensuring Quality Care for Residents
The owner of an adult care home, residence for adults or enriched housing program shall post the departmental complaint hotline number conspicuously in a prominent place within the facility. The division of health service regulation may waive the annual state inspection requirement of an adult care home, residence for adults, or enriched housing program if it meets the standards prescribed in this section and provides the highest quality of services as rated by the department.
Care Home Operators who are interested in obtaining a license to operate an adult care home must submit their application and provide detailed information about the home such as health and safety records, criminal background checks, financial information, operating budget, and a letter of support from the local community. They are also required to attend training and meet licensing requirements including an annual state inspection.
